About Allan O'Loughlin

Allan a talented sculptor and fitter welder of Canterbury, New Zealand has adapted his trade and artistic flair to create sculptures of steel.

Being self-taught, Allan has drawn on his passion for photography, travel and gardening to create his sculptures. Graceful, elegant, and whimsical, his works have a touch of surrealist charm. Creative versatility and ability to master the changing character of welded steel is evidenced in his unique one of a kind sculptures .

Arc welded steel either in its natural state, giving a rusty earthy appearance or galvanized in a protective zinc coating giving a silver appearance for those sculptures that make an impact.

Sculpting now for 10 years, Allan has held 2 large successful solo exhibitions at his property in Mandeville. He has also taken place in several exhibitions, Art in a garden at Hawarden 2013,Oxford Art gallery 2013, Auckland Sculpture on shore 2012, Trotts garden Ashburton 2012, Broadfields garden Lincoln, Garden Marlborough and the International Ellerslie Flower Show.

His works have successfully made their way into many private residences, he also works alongside clients to create commissioned pieces so they can enjoy the perfect piece for their environment.
